Deivamagal (lit. God's daughter) is an Indian Tamil-language family soap opera starring Krishna and VaniBhojan. It replaced Thirumathi Selvam and was replaced by Nayagi. It was broadcast on Sun TV initially from Monday to Friday and later extended to Saturday from 25 March 2013 to 17 February 2018 for 1,466 episodes.[1][2]

In the serial, the Jai hind Vikas family overcome several problems they face from Gayatri.The show is produced by Vikatan Televistas Pvt Ltd and director by S. Kumaran.[3]

Plot[edit]

The story mainly revolves around Prakash, his wife Sathyapriya and his eldest sister-in-law Gayathri's conspiracies against their families to conquer their ancestral property Jai Hind Villa.

The show begins in a small village with Sathyapriya who is the eldest daughter of Sundaram, a rich man in the village who has two sisters, Tharani and Anjali. Sathya has a rival in the same village, named Sathyakala who is jealous of her. Once Sathyakala mistakes Karthik to be in love with her, when he in reality, loves Sathyapriya. When she learns the truth, she tries to commit suicide. Sathyakala's father gets furious about it. Karthik and Sathyapriya's marriage is fixed. But on the day of the marriage, as per Sathyakala's father's plan, the wedding gets stopped. Angered, Karthik's mother Annapoorni, brings her son along with her. Sathya's father dies in disappointment. The family is forced to leave their house and they go to Chennai, to Sampoornam, Sathya's mother's brother's, Devaraj's house. There, Devaraj's wife, Saroja humiliates the newcomers. Yet, Sathya's uncle and her cousins, Suresh and Sujatha showers care and love on them.

Sathya goes to work at a star hotel and gets tortured by the GM, Gayathri there. Gayathri hails from a family, where her father-in-law, Chidambaram is a proud fan of Mahatma. Chidambaram and his wife, Janaki, have 4 children. The elder Kumar, is married to Gayathri and they have a daughter Monisha. The second son Raju, a lazy guy, who stays and sleeps at home all day. He has a wife Thilaga, who is staying with her mother. They have their only daughter, and the youngest, Ragini, who goes to college. Their third son, Prakash is a short-tempered man. All his attempts to pass exams and get a government job which is spoiled by Gayathri. Gayathri rules the family. The family has to do all the work for her. She wants to take the Jai Hind Vilas property all to herself. This is found by Prakash, and he becomes her big obstacle to get the property.

Devaraj and Sampoornam wants Sathya and Suresh to get married but Saroja hates it. Meanwhile, Sathya gets introduced to Prakash's parents and Prakash himself. Her meeting with Prakash and subsequent meetings does not go well. Nevertheless, they become good friends, after Sathya saves Prakash even though he wanted to kill her. Prakash saves Tharani from some youths with evil intentions. This leads to him to fall for her innocence and he decides to get married to her. Tharani, who is in love with her cousin Suresh, does not like it. In the meantime, Prakash arranges house for Sathya's family after Saroja chases them out. Sathya meets Karthik, and works at his office. Annapoorni realises her mistake and decides to get Sathya married to Karthik, as Karthik still loves her.

On the wedding day of Prakash and Tharani, Gayathri provokes Tharani to elope. When she does, Prakash forces Sathya to marry him, to win Gayathri. Sathya accepts as her mother begs her. Sathya disowns Tharani. Further argument between Prakash and Suresh leads to a rocky relationship between the two families. Meanwhile, Sathya and Prakash understands and falls in love with each other. Prakash gets into quarrel with Sathya's mother and prevents her from meeting her mother. Unable to go against Prakash, Sathya agrees.

Sathya gets pregnant and at the sametime, Tharani goes missing. Prakash saves Sathya from a lady who wants to sell her. Tharani does to understand them and stays adamant with them. Due to several things, Sathya has a miscarriage and she hides it from Prakash. No one knows the truth apart from Sathya's mother, sister and Prakash's sister-in-law, Thilaga. When Sampoornam accidentally blurts out the truth, Prakash gets furious and chases Sathya out. He refuses to talk to her. When finally, after he accepts the fate and changes his mind, he gets stabbed by some goons who messed with Sathya and Prakash in the past but survives. Sathya and Prakash starts to care more for each other.

Kumar then married Akila and she already has a son,while Gayathri created so many obstacles in their life.Sathya and Prakash had a daughter named Mahalakshmi. All the problems were over once for all and Gayathri is arrested but she had escaped from police with pistol and shot Akila in front of Kumar and Prakash and Kidnapped Moni. The next day she had kidnapped Maha and decided to kill her. Prakash and Sathya were searching for the two kids along with the ACP Samuel Raja and while rescuing Maha Prakash shot Gayathri but she was alive and finally killed by Kumar in the hospital. Finally the Jaihind vilas and Sakash lived happily with their kids.
